Why oh why does almost everyone seem to moan on this web site.
I have not been on this web site for ages but the posts are depressing i.e not got a big enough ground, wish we had an atmosphere like that, we don't have a flag waving culture, Bruce is no good, the board is no good blah blah blo?dy blah.
I would guess many of you are not true blue noses and only jumped on the premiership bandwagon about 4/5 years ago and now can't believe we are 'only in 2nd in the championship'. Shock/horror
Let me tell you all, well thats life, thats what being a blue nose is all about, get used to it or go and support Chelsea.
Being a blue nose is all about supporting your team through thick and even more thick, being a blues fan is about celebrating like you've just won the champions league final when you get a last minute home equaliser against some nobody.
Come on stop moaning or you can all go down the vile, get a grip on reality, Blues where born to struggle and struggle we will and I am very proud of the fact that we probably alway will.
Keep right on - all true blue noses

Sorry but to say you are proud to always struggle is a bit strange me thinks, so by that theory you dont want Blues to win the league and you would be quite happy if Blues did not go up this year for example??? As for winning something who cares eh???
Just the Nero attitude that got Blues relegated :applause:
Whats a good time for some of you lot, a funeral???

Have you come on here just to slag of us Blues fans that want the best for the club.
We see that we have under-performed time and time again this season, we realise that time and time again we have been second best and been out-played, we realise that the bunch of players we have are a very young talented bunch of players and with the right coaching and tactics could go very far.
There are many different fans. There are the fans that are happy with watching pathetic football and paying 25+ quid to do so and there are the other fans who want better and with certain changes this team we have could do alot better.
Opinions are opinions and thats football and if people didnt now and again have a moan or point something out that they didnt like then it would be completely pointless having this forum in all fairness and people in pubs after football games would sit there in silence.

We whinge when we're losing We moan when we're winning We are the blues.
If you've only just realised that, after 3 months on this forum, then you have obviously never spoken to a bluenose in your life.
If anyone should mistakenly take your post at face value, let them ask themselves one question.
How many prawn-sarnie-munching-fairweather-back-slapping fans, who signed up on our promotion,.............
......would still be bothered to stay members of this Forum after relegation?
The people who moan, or praise, the people who dream and hope, the people who sigh and worry....basically the people who are on this Forum are bluenoses. They care about the club and the team.
They don't bother about trying to attack other fans.
Because basically thats all you are doing. You are attacking fellow fans. In this instance you are accusing them of being new fans (post promotion) who don't know what the blues culture is.
I'll tell you.
Its about recognising bull, its about fairplay, its about being objective (when we are cr@p we are cr@p)its about supporting a club that has never achieved and in recent years its about supporting a board that doesn't meet its own hype.
And in that blind support there exists some sighs, some moans and some worries. It wouldn't be natural if not.
Try reading a Chelsea Forum or an Arsenal one. They moan from a position of strength. We moan from a position of recognising history.
We all have hope, but for cheap and silly shots that only seek to divide, like your post, we wonder, are you 10 years old?
We can only laugh.
:LMAO:

Let me tell you something, mate. Many of the so-called 'moaners' on this forum have been following Blues all their lives - in my case for over 70 years! Yes, we had the seasons in the 3rd division (at 3rd division prices); the seasons in the 2nd division (at 2nd division prices) and the same for the 1st division. We had some highlights, like being FA Cup finalists in 1931 and 1956; League Cup winners in 1963 and finalists in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. There was always hope that, someday, maybe we would eventually progress as a club and attain the heights and expectations of other clubs like Arsenal, Man U or even arston viler.
We went some way to achieving that success 5 years ago when we were promoted to the Premiership and, for 3 seasons, gained the respect within the game that had eluded us for so many years. We allowed the club to fleece every penny they could out of us because we knew it was for the benefit of the team - buying top-class players and improving services at the club. We paid the exhorbitant costs of season tickets and tacky merchandise believing that the club would honour their promise to elevate the club to dizzy heights with ongoing investment in the team and stadium.
Then, 2 years ago, things started to go pear-shaped. We had a succession of poor team performances resulting in near relegation. When there was no improvement at the start of last season, most of us (the moaners) could see that, without some immediate action by the Board, all earlier achievement would be down the drain. As the season progressed, it became quite obvious that the team under Steve Bruce would not avoid the drop. Board members merely buried their heads in the sand and crossed their fingers.
In a way, it was us, the fans, who were at fault by being complacent and accepting the Board's assurances that 'Steve Bruce was the man to get us out of this mess' when we all (the moaners) knew he wouldn't. We should have battered David Sullivan's door down (he was the only one who saw the writing on the wall) and demanded action. We should have demonstrated at the ground on match days and made our opinions heard. But no, we did nothing but watch the club slide down the table, dreading but accepting the inevitable with little more than a whimper.
We have tasted the good times, for which we, as fans, paid handsomely. We should never again blindly accept that Blues are a second-rate team and will 'always let us down'. Let us demand success in line with the cost of supporting the team.
Even now, being one of the leaders in this poxy division where we should be showing our superiority in playing the game, we are no better than the previous 2 seasons - even worse in many respects. We (the moaners) feel that even if this team get promoted, they will flounder in the Premiership under SB, irrespective of player upgrades
In this season's ST renewal letter, Karren Brady announced....
OUR PLEDGE TO YOU
1. Whichever way you choose to renew, WE 100% GUARANTEE THAT IN THE EVENT THAT ANY PLAYERS ARE SOLD, EVERY SINGLE PENNY RAISED WILL BE USED FOR SIGNING NEW PLAYERS.
Has it?
2. We promise you MORE GOALS and MORE FUN at St Andrew's than during the past season with players, who have the COMMITMENT and the DESIRE to deliver MORE WINS and MORE GOALS.
Really?
3. The season 2006/2007 will see a significant number of new players with our prime target front of mind (sic) AUTOMATIC PROMOTION.
On the cheap!
We were coerced into paying our season tickets early (by June 2) with the promise of a 20% discount on season 2007/8. Because of the low uptake, the club then offered a 10% reduction on this season's ST prices - without the 20% discount for 2007/8.
They have now changed the goalposts again by offering the 20% off next season's ST's for fans who paid 10% less this season; nullifying the commitment made by those who paid upfont early last year!
And you say we have nothing to moan about? :banghead:

I thouht I was probably one of the oldest on this site, been supporting since October 1935,but Woodbine,we must be close.
Any way both Sth Bham Blues, and Woodbine make sense in their posts, and I feel that after all my time of supporting Blues, I have to have hope. If I didn't have that, then I would not be a Blues supporter. I will still support them, come what may. :Blues:

I thouht I was probably one of the oldest on this site, been supporting since October 1935,but Woodbine,we must be close.
Any way both Sth Bham Blues, and Woodbine make sense in their posts, and I feel that after all my time of supporting Blues, I have to have hope. If I didn't have that, then I would not be a Blues supporter. I will still support them, come what may. :Blues:

I understand the message, but disagree with the sentiment.
For me all this, 'aren't we loyal because we give unquestioning support to an underachieving club', seemingly indicates that mediocrity is the peak of your ambition.
If your proud of us struggling, why not support a club that really struggles rather than one who have the basis to become a top flight outfit - providing it's fans are prepared to aspire to that too.
But of course we are Bluenoses born and bred. The maoners are just as Blue as you. Some maybe more so, having earnt their status over many, many decades.
Perhaps some would just like to sample a little success before travelling on to the big football stadium in the sky. Perhaps the unambitious attitude of some fans might help prevent that.
Just an alternative view.

We (the moaners) feel that even if this team get promoted, they will flounder in the Premiership under SB, irrespective of player upgrades In this season's ST renewal letter, Karren Brady announced.... OUR PLEDGE TO YOU 1. :banghead:Edited by Admin.
Being a fan of a football club is like being a consumer.
Exercise your right as a consumer of the football club, you don't have to invest your time or money in the club if you don't like what you are getting in return.
Find your happy place.

So let's compare it on a consumer basis, acjboyle.
A man strives for years to accumulate a deposit for a house. After a few years struggling to pay off the mortgage, interest rate rises or redundancy forces repossession of his property as he is no longer able to keep up the payments. Through no fault of his own, he loses his investment and he and his family are thrown out onto the street.
Many of the long-standing Blues fans, loyal supporters through thick and thin, now find it impossible to watch their beloved team due to exorbitant ticket prices. I imagine they feel just as let down as the man who lost his house. Are you saying that these supporters should discard their loyalty and find a club they can afford to watch?
It's no good David Gold pontificating about the ills in the game one day and then paying a 36 year old player the takings from 3 home gates the next! Clubs no longer have the fans at heart and, unless a stand is made by them and their supporters, the game as a spectator sport is fast approaching an end. I bet Jimmy Hill rues the part he played in the abolition of the maximum wage!

I'm not quite sure how the man with the mortgage and family example relates to what I was saying, but I'll take on the other points in discussion.
I think the main reason why people are non-attending at St.Andrews is directly due to the fact that, as consumers of Birmingham City, they haver exercised their right to chose to go to games. There are many reasons why purchasing a match ticket has become a less attractive option for many, not going to delve into that one now. It's been discussed plenty on here..
Why people still go. Loyal Support, blind faith, love of Blues, routine, nothing better to do on a matchday, hope of one day Blues will fulfil their dream and the fact you can say you were part of that dream.
Like tobacco, porn, alcohol, other leisure related businesses, the people running the show know that they have people who are hooked on the excitement and entertainment, it's a safe consumerable business to entertain (in more ways than one)..
No one forces any one to buy a season ticket, it's a choice that people make. If 'one' doesn't think it's worth the money, then choose not to go. Unless the entertainment is provided by having a good moan..
Football is now a business, big business at that.
